Case closed: Today was the last day of the court case I've been sitting on. The judge summed up (which took at least five times longer than I was expecting) and then we jurors were taken upstairs to retire to discuss our verdict (which also took at least five times longer than I was expecting). We were shut in a private room, separated from our mobile phones and left to deliberate. We could only communicate with the outside world through the court usher, he had to bring us sandwiches at lunchtime, and the whole debate was very interesting. Can't tell you any more than that though, because discussing what goes on in the jury room would be contempt of court (see here). OK, I'm an expert now. Next case please...
