For ten years the redoubtable Ian Visits has published a weekly round-up of all the rail transport news in the capital. Be it the latest from Crossrail or plans for the tube, it's all been dutifully linked and listed in an indispensable round-up available for your perusal every Friday morning. Today's collection, numbered 359, is the place to discover what's been going on over the last seven days without tediously trying to keep up with everything all by yourself. That's rail comprehensively taken care of.
But nobody's done anything similar for buses, which after all are the most widely used form of transport in the capital. A round-up of London bus news would undoubtedly be both useful and immensely popular, just as Ian's train digest has been, so today I'm launching my own. Don't say you're not excited.
It's an auspicious week for London's buses as the Superloop ramps up into hyper-mode, what with route X26 being renumbered SL7 and significant improvements to the timetables of both the SL7 and SL8. That's all happening tomorrow so I'm sure London's media will be abuzz with thoughtful news content. Ian's first week included possible names for stations on the Metropolitan line extension, plans to reopen Lea Bridge station, attempts to stop HS2 and the boost Crossrail might bring to property prices in Maidenhead. I hope my first week will be so well remembered.
So yes, over the last seven days I've been comprehensively scrutinising news sources in and around the capital for bus-related content, and below I've reproduced everything in handy summarised form. It's all here. Enjoy.
