It's only September but we already know it won't be Boris, it's Liz Truss, and today she flies up to Balmoral to become the UK's 56th Prime Minister. Congratulations, if that's the right word, to the 11 people who guessed correctly.
• Not that I want her. [zin92]
• Pork markets. [Geofftech]
• She seems like she's trying to build herself up as a mini-Trump. It will play well with the Conservative party. Will it play well with the voters in an election, that I'm less sure. [Andrew Bowden]
• I hope she'd be a pleasant change [Joho]
• And I think she will be even worse than boris [lockedintheattic]
• I don't think Rishi could get the support, and I don't think Boris will last next year. [Kirk]
• Strong appeal to the anti-disgrace faction - keep cheese British! [Strabismus]
• I enjoyed her book "Eats, Shoots & Leaves" and suspect it will be a foretaste of her time as PM. (irony=off) [Phil]
• Madly, the fake Thatcher impersonator is in with a betting chance. Not that I would want her. Cheese! [Steve R]
• I think she'll be a disaster. But the only voters who matter in this are Tory party members and she is playing them like a fiddle. They'll vote for her in droves. [IslandDweller]
• God help us [Ewan]
Some of these comments are impressively prophetic, well done (although don't be too amazed, there were 45 plausible but false predictions in the other comments boxes).
I'd like to think we can do better than a 20% success rate.
So today would be a good day to ask you to look into the future again.
What do you think will be the outcome of the next General Election?
Pick the outcome you expect, not the outcome you want.
Keep any accompanying text short.
Any other comments in the box below, thanks.
We don't yet know when the next General Election might be.
But after it happens I'll come back and see if we guessed any better this time.
Let's see if Liz Truss really is a gamechanger.
