In the meantime, here's my gladiolus...
...which did its usual trick of waiting until summer, pushing up a long stalk of half a dozen red buds and blooms, looking resplendent for a day (yesterday), then snapping off under its own weight (today). One year I'll manage to rescue it in time before it droops, but this year I was too late, so I've plonked it in a vase to admire indoors as the last few buds open, blaze and die.
