2010: referendum held, Rahman gets the vote out, council control will transfer to an elected Mayor
2010: Lutfur Rahman gets the vote out and is elected Mayor of Tower Hamlets
2010-4: dubious shenanigans
2014: Lutfur Rahman gets the vote out and retains Mayoralty
2015: previous Mayoral election declared void by the High Court
2015: Rahman found guilty of electoral fraud and disqualified from office for five years
2015: with Rahman out of the way, Labour's John Biggs elected Mayor
2017: Rahman appeals to High Court to overturn ban, fails
2018: with Rahman out of the way, John Biggs retains Mayoralty
2021: referendum offers chance to ditch the Mayoral system, Rahman campaigns to keep it, electorate sleepwalks into keeping it
2022: Lutfur Rahman gets the vote out and regains Mayoralty
